The part of the trip I am looking forward to the least is the flight there. At first I thought that I would be spending a few days in Bangkok adjusting to the time. Fares were pretty reasonable when I first started looking but availability started to dwindle so I panicked a bit and booked a flight. For a variety of considerations we ended up deciding to meet in Chiangmai Mai on January 8th. That meant I either needed to overnight in Bangkok and return to the airport to fly to Chiangmai Mai the following Day or get a flight to Chiangmai Mai immediately after landing in Bangkok. I’ve chosen to do the later. As a result, I am scheduled to have a 26 hour travel day, Ugh. In retrospect, I could have done it faster and likely for the same or less, if I would have waited a bit and purchased my flight direct to Chiangmai Mai.
I leave late at night. It’s 12 hours to Seoul, a two hour connection, then 6+ hours to Bangkok, 4+ hours to get through immigration, get some cash and find my domestic flight, then a little over an hour to Chiangmai Mai. Luckily my hotel is supposed to be a 10-15 minute taxi ride from the airport. I hope it all goes smoothly and I am able to get some sleep.
Oh well, wish me luck!

Glad you arrive safely without orange juice stains on your clothing. Take care!
