The trip home

It was a long and uneventful trip home. We took a bus to Hiroshima airport (an hour from the city), then flew to Haneda airport in Tokyo to catch our Delta flight direct to Seattle. The transfer from terminal one (domestic) to terminal three (international) took about 30 minutes. We were surprised that the shopping and eating selections at terminal three were not very good unless you were interested in shopping for luxury jewelry, handbags, or fashion items.  Before we knew it, they were boarding our flight home and our 3-hour layover didn’t seem too long.

We had a good two weeks and felt like we saw a good portion of Japan. We were glad we went in the low season as it was crowded enough as it was. Angie commented that it wasn’t as colorful as she would have thought, which was likely due to the fact that it was still winter so the grass wasn’t green and none of the trees were flowering or leafed out.

As far as stats go, I did a rough calculation and figured that over the two weeks we rode on 41 buses, trains and planes.  My phone tells me I walked 77.9 miles. The maps below shows where we visited in two different scales.
