Tres Equis – La Suiza (21km/ 12miles. 2400 feet elevation). Camino sections 5 & 6
Today started with a short introduction to artisanal chocolate making from the women of the couple that owns the cabins were we stayed. Through our guide who did his best translating, we learned that she roasts the cacao and then adds the sugar directly to the cacao. Most of us bought some of her treats. We then started walking directly from the cabins a short distance up the main road until we cut off on a side road. Today was on roads; mostly dirt, but some paved roads. We had many great views of the country side and passed sugar cane fields, some coffee, and a few banana plants.
